The writer, like his parents, spontaneously attached the aristocratic particle "de" to his surname.
The correspondence between H. de Balzac and E. Ganskaya covers five volumes. It was published under the general title "Letters to a Foreign Woman" (as she signed in her first messages to the writer E. Ganskaya).
On Balzac's bookshelf stood a thick black-bound book. On its title page was written: "A sad calculation." It was a collection of bills on which the writer was forced to pay debts.
The "Human Comedy" includes 90 works, united in three large sections, called "etudes". According to scientists, the "Human Comedy" depicts about 2000 characters. Many of them appear in several works. Such "returning heroes" provide a link between different texts and give integrity to the epic.
