Dramatis personae

Dramatis personae: The cast of characters. In a play (and sometimes in other works such as novels), a listing of all the characters generally precedes the text and is included in the programs passed out at live performances. Sometimes the list also includes short descriptions of the characters and their relationship to other characters in the work.
